I signed up to DaisyTrail but didn't receive an activation email. What should I do?

Email usually takes a couple of minutes to be delivered. Unfortunately, congestion on the internet or in the mail servers at either end can sometimes prolong the wait by several hours. Your email provider's junk mail or spam filters can sometimes inadvertently move valid email to your junk/spam folder, so it's worth checking they haven't been moved there by mistake.

If you're still having difficulty activating your account, please contact us, including the email address you signed up with and the specific problem you're having.

BT Internet and Yahoo! Mail customers may wish to check the filter management page on Yahoo!, as Yahoo! often marks legitimate email as spam.

How do I change my password on DaisyTrail?

Once you have logged in, click on 'My Profile' then 'Edit Account'. The change password form is at the top of the page.

What do I need to do to receive the DaisyTrail newsletter?

You can change your contact preferences by logging in and clicking on 'My Profile' then 'Edit Account'. There is a 'Preferences' section about halfway down where you can tick the relevant boxes to sign up to the newsletter. If you're still not receiving the newsletter and you've checked your Spam/Junk Mail folders, use the Contact Form to let us know and we'll have a look.

Why do I need to install Silverlight?

Our specially designed Scrapbook viewer uses Microsoft Silverlight to provide a more fun and involved way of exploring Scrapbooks. Instead of seeing a still image, you can move the view around and zoom in and out on areas of detail or particular interest. Our viewer allows you to examine all the detail a 300 DPI Scrapbook contains. To find out more, visit the Microsoft Silverlight website.

What is Silverlight, is it safe to install on my computer?

Microsoft Silverlight is a browser plug-in like Flash that allows website creators to deliver richer, more interactive websites to their users. Silverlight is more secure than Flash due to its more modern security technology, including sandboxing and isolated storage.

Can I still view Scrapbooks without Silverlight?

Yes. To view the original images a Scrapbook was made with, click on the 'original picture' link in the Information section of a Scrapbook. You can also choose to always see Scrapbooks as original images by changing your Account Preferences, under 'Site Options'.

Do I need JavaScript for this website?

Yes, DaisyTrail requires JavaScript to be enabled for the website to work correctly. If you need help on enabling JavaScript, this page on Google shows you how.

How do I set my profile picture/forums avatar?

Upload a photo, then click the 'Profile picture' radio button on the next page when you name and tag the photo.

How many scrapbooks/photos can I upload? Is there an disk space quota?

You can upload as many scrapbooks and photos are you want; there is no disk space quota. However, each individual upload is limited:

  • 30 MB per scrapbook page
  • 5 MB per photograph

I've been made an officer/moderator, why can't I edit posts?

For security reasons, you must log out and log in again to have your permissions loaded correctly.

What's the best way to export a craft project for printing without losing quality?

When you export an image file for print, you need to make sure that it is set to export at 300dpi. Click on 'File' > 'Export' > 'Export as Image'. When the export optimizer window comes up, click on the 'Settings' tab and check your DPI is set to 300.

I still have a question that's not listed here, where can I ask it?

If you can't find the answer to your question here, there are a couple of places you can try:

  • The forums are a great place to ask for help from the DaisyTrail community. Our moderators and website staff also keep an eye on the forums and may be able to answer your question there. If your question is related to the website, you'll probably want to check out the Help and Feedback forum first.
  • If you'd like to talk to us directly, you can use the Contact page to drop us a message. Leave your email and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Is CraftArtist compatible with Digikits I already have installed for Digital Scrapbook Artist?

Yes, when you install CraftArtist all your existing kits will be available to you automatically. This includes any kits you have made yourself in Scrapbook Artist. Even after you uninstall DSA (if you choose to do so) all your kits will still be available in CraftArtist.

Can I load projects I have created in Digital Scrapbook Artist into CraftArtist?

Yes, CraftArtist will open Scrapbook Artist files.

Is it available as a download?

CraftArtist Platinum is not currently available as a download - due to the amount of content it is supplied with the download would be extremely large.

Do I need to own Digital Scrapbook Artist 2 to order?

No - you don't need to own a previous version of Scrapbook Artist to take advantage of this offer

Will I need to uninstall Digital Scrapbook Artist once CraftArtist is installed?

No - Digital Scrapbook Artist will remain on your computer as a separate program. Of course CraftArtist is effectively an upgrade to DSA2 so there is no particular need for you to keep DSA2 installed - but it's up to you.

Can I just buy the CraftArtist software to get the new features without the content?

From 21st January 2011, anyone can purchase the CraftArtist Professional software as a download. This will be available in the DaisyTrail shop. This download does not contain any digikits or content - just the CraftArtist Professional software.

Can other kits purchased elsewhere still be imported into CraftArtist like you could with DSA?

CraftArtist Professional contains the Digikit Creator featured from Digital Scrapbook Artist, so kits can be imported and saved. CraftArtist Baby Photos, Wedding Day, Scrapbooks and Greeting Cards contain the CraftArtist (standard) software, which does not contain the Digikit Creator. CraftArtist Compact also does not contain the Digikit Creator.

What are the system requirements for CraftArtist Platinum?

Minimum requirements are below:

  • Windows-based PC with DVD drive and mouse
  • Microsoft Windows© XP (32 bit), Windows© Vista, or Windows© 7 (32 or 64 bit) operating system
  • 512MB RAM
  • 266MB free hard disk space (program only)*
  • 1024 x 768 monitor resolution
  • Additional 4.3 GB is needed for all 4 content disks to be installed, but these can be on any available drive.

Will all the effects, brushes and stencils from DSA2 be available in CraftArtist?

Yes they are all there. If you have created your own custom stencils, brushes or effects you will need to copy them over for CraftArtist to see them (as you may have had to do when upgrading from DSA 1 to DSA 2). We'll give instructions on that soon.

Will the new Digikits work with DSA2?

Unfortunately not. The new kits have new features and memory management improvements which only CraftArtist supports.

Can I try the free version or some kind of trial before I decide to buy?

The Compact version of CraftArtist will be available from 21st January, on the Free Stuff page.

How many computers can I install CraftArtist on?

What are the differences between CraftArtist Compact, CraftArtist and CraftArtist Professional?

There are 3 versions of CraftArtist software which vary depending on the type of user and how you intend to use the software:

  1. CraftArtist Professional
This software provides you with the ability to fully utilise content in addition to editing and creating your own digikits. Focused more for the Professional or frequent user.
  2. CraftArtist Standard
This version of the software is fully functional, providing you with all the tools necessary (like scissors, stencils and brushes) to use the graphical content to its full potential. This is not available as standalone software but is included in editions such as:
    • CraftArtist Baby Photos
    • CraftArtist Wedding Day
    • CraftArtist Greeting Cards
    • Craft Artist Scrapbooks
    • Serif Photo Projects
    • Any other 'Powered by CraftArtist' software (e.g., 'Create and Craft Design Suite')
  3. CraftArtist Compact
The free version of the CraftArtist software is called CraftArtist Compact. This is ideal for anyone wanting a taster of what CraftArtist is about, or those who want to create basic print-based projects without spending any money.

In addition to these there is also CraftArtist Platinum. CraftArtist Platinum is a bundle of the CraftArtist Professional software, plus all the content (digikits) from the other four CraftArtist products (Baby Photos, Wedding Day, Greeting Cards and Scrapbooks.)

The Platinum edition is incredible value for money; offering both a wealth of content (57 digikits in total), plus the CraftArtist Professional software with extra features.
