Hello and welcome to the new thread, everyone is welcome please leave as many messages as you want to leave there are also NO restrictions on how long or short your message may be its your thread please enjoy it as you wish...Its a friendly place for you to share what ever you wish to share there are no rules... not even a naughty step.lol

I'm starting the thread off with some special dates first a little bit about the name June...June is a Latin baby name...In Latin the meaning of the name June is Young .....In Roman Mythology Juno was Protectress of Woman and of Marriage....In modern times June is therefore known as the Bridal month....June is also known as the Midsummer Month hence the title.....June it is also meaning sacred to Juno the Roman Goddess....I have some special days that are celebrated this month....
Dare Days, Flip a Coin Day, National Bubba Day, National Doughnut Day, National Rocky Road Day,Applesauce cake Day, National Trails Day, Repeat Day ...I said repeat day... and for our friends in Texas Donald Duck Day and Roses Day. But more importantly Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day... The people of Texas remembering that all Slaves are free in 1865...food was abundant as everyone prepares a special dish....Juneteenth is a Portmanteau of June and Nineteenth...Thank you and Welcome.xx

Hello and what a fantastic month that June will be, and we also have a very lovely lady in our midst, our very own June (Jayo)... Thank You Mary for starting the new thread and I really enjoyed reading the history of June. I did not know that June was Donald Duck Day here in Texas! I did know of the Roses Day. A beautiful time with roses of all kinds to enjoy. But I can sure enjoy the other lovely days, such as National Rocky Road Day. Just the thought has me in a great mood! I will be in and out the next couple of days but will really enjoy catching up with everyone. Enjoy this Midsummer Month of June. I am sure that everyone will have fantastic days ahead!

Hi all, gorgeous day here for the 1st of June, thanks for opening the new thread Mary. solved part of my recent stress problem, a letter saying I hadn't paid enough council tax for last 3 years, and owed nearly £1000. Took several days to sort, it was a mistake and they actually owed me a little money. not done my digestion much good though. Thanks for info, never knew all this happened in June. Have to help Hubby in garden after lunch but hope to get back later. Hope everyone is well. Lots of hugs to all for now.June.xxxx

Morning all. Happy June to everyone. Thanks Mary for doing all that research.

Sorry you that nasty letter June. They should make sure they have their facts right before frightening people like that.

Morning Beth and Ri. Hope you are keeping well my friends.

Happy June to all! June, it is such a worry when that sort of thing happens. Last year when my husband had surgery I had go through all sorts of worries with both the insurance company AND hospital billing. I'm thinking that's not an issue with universal health care but don't see that happening in my lifetime (If I live to be 150) in my country. LOL Oh, well. It all worked out after many phone conversations. We do have one June wedding in the family. My great-niece, Katie, is getting married at a outdoor music venue in Arkansas. Lots of bands, etc. Should be interesting and sure I'll be scrapping some pages with the photos. Thanks to those who provided all the information about the month. Very interesting. My first time in the monthly forums and, hopefully, I can keep up.
