| bellsgallHappy Scrapbooker Posts: 2 Mail user Ignore | Craft Artist Platinum on multiple pcs question 18/07/2012 at 7:52am Hi Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I did a search and couldn't find anything. I have a dopy of Craft Artist Platinum installed on the main pc in the house. We are having a shift around of furniture and decided to move our pc upstairs and have bought a laptop for use downstairs or while out and about, especially as we often stay at my dad's house. I was wondering if it's possible to install the software onto the laptop as well,I know it has a registration/license. My husband works nights so it would be handy to have access to CA downstairs. I love the software btw. Thanks for any help/advice. |

You are only allowed to use the program on one computer at a time though. (ie you can't use it on the PC and someone use it on the laptop at the same time) ![]() |

As with DSA assuming it's for your household's use you can install CraftArtist on one PC and one laptop.' Anne ![]() |

The FAQ answer which you've quoted looks as though it's paraphrasing the licence conditions for 'content' (i.e. DigiKits, clipart, font collections, etc.) rather than software. The licence for CraftArtist (included as 'License.rtf' in the CA 'Program Files' folder) says this: "2. SCOPE OF USE "Licensee may install, display, access and use one (1) copy of the Software Product on a single computer. The primary user of the computer on which the Software Product is installed may make a second copy of the computer software part of the Software Product for his or her exclusive use on a portable computer. Licensee may store or install one (1) copy of the Software Product on a storage device, such as a network server, only to install or run the Software Product on other computers over an internal network and subject to Licensee first acquiring and dedicating a license for each separate computer on which the Software Product is installed, displayed, accessed or used from the storage device. The Software Product may not be shared or used concurrently on different computers." In other words, you may install the first copy on a desktop PC, a laptop or a netbook, and if you are the primary user of that machine, you may install a second copy on a laptop or a netbook, but only for your own use and not to be run at the same time as the first copy. The FAQ answer makes it sound as though the two copies (one on a desktop PC and one on a laptop, i.e. not both on laptops) are licensed for use by any member of the household, even at the same time, but this is clearly not the case.
