Has anyone else had the serif newsletter that suggests using the scissors tool to cut out the intricate parts of a photo - I've had a quicj try and you can do it but I am not sure if its an improvement. I do find the photo cut out lab quite difficult to use sometimes.Just interested in anyone elses thoughts

I tend to use a combination of cut out studio and the eraser tool.
The scissors are good too sometimes x
Getting those very fine details and stray pixels can be tricky but worth it in the end

Well spotted! I hadn't noticed that little suggestion until you mentioned it. I admit to being a little puzzled, too. I have used scissors to slice off parts of the photograph (but crop does the same job), but my first choice would be cutout studio or erase, and sometimes I use CSO in the photolab if there is a good contrast in the colours.

Hi, For those people who are not receiving news letters, go into Edit Account from the drop down tab My profile and make sure there's a check next to newsletter and then click Change Settings, i'm really not sure that this is set to ticked by default.

Mine is ticked, but I have never received a newsletter from Serif. The only emails I receive from Serif are advertising other software available.

I get the Serif newsletter (different from the DaisyTrail newsletter) but I wonder if it's because I've got an account (i.e. spend money with!!) Serif as well as with DT? It's worth checking your spam folders, too, in case it's gone in there.

Hiya, I also have trouble with cut out studio.....the lines seem to have a mind of their own and squiggle all over the place I`m hoping its just a case of keep practising unless i`m doing something wrong! Will have to try the scissors.
