On create and craft the other day some one emailed in saying they thought they had heard that one could cut using the CRS cutting machine. I would love to do this, does anyone know how to do this with CA Professional? Desperate to know how!! Thanks

Hi there,

Type 'cutting machines' into the search above - there have been quite a few people with the same query as you and it has been answered at length!

I find the first thread that comes up from the search is the most helpful

Thanks,
Jo

Working with Silhouette

Try following this, I have used it with some of the items in my digi-kits but find it easier to take the background out using my craft artist.

Bringing art work into Silhouette

(this also works if bringing art work in from the internet etc)
save art work as png file
Open in silhouette
Resize
Select
Open trace window (3rd icon in second box from right)
Select the trace area
Unselect the High Pass Filter
Increase the threshold
Move the art work away from the outline
Copy and paste the outline
Move the second outline
Replace the artwork back into the first outline
Select the area so as to select the first outline and the artwork
Go to the Object menu on the left - modify – crop to remove the outer background
Select the art work and holding down shift select the 2nd outline (both are selected)
Go to the align icon (4rd icon in3rd box from right) and click centralise (placing the artwork in the outline)
While both are selected right click and select group
