Case studies
Posted: 21st July Category: DaisyTrail News By: jopriorHi everyone,
We are always looking to promote DT and DSA when we can, and are looking for case studies to use in our outreach.
Have any of you had a career change after discovering DSA, or set up your own business?
Please email me if you do: jprior@daisytrail.com.
Thanks!
Jo
Hi Jo, DSA hasn’t changed my career direction but it has helped me, I earn my living by tutoring people on the PC, usually old aged pensioners, who find modern technology difficult. I run a six weeks course covering all the boring stuff like e-mails and word processing, since having DSA nearly all my customers have brought it and love it, which has helped me as they find it so interesting they have continued having lessons far longer than they would have done normally due to the enjoyment they are getting from it.
Cheryl.
Same story here, I also ran a series of taster workshops during adult learning week and, if the filters at the community venues don't prohibit it, I include DSA Compact as part of my community courses and DT as an example of a social networking site with forums and personal messaging.
And there are plenty more of us out there introducing DSA into our teaching. I agree with Cheryl - our students are learning all the same skills whether they type a letter, send an email or make a scrapbook - but the latter is the most fun!
