Hi everyone,

We have just launched a fabulous new range in the DaisyTrail Shop that we HAD to tell you about: Kimeric Kreations!

We are incredibly excited about this new designer, and from the response we've had so far on Facebook and Create & Craft TV, we know you will love the digikits too.

We asked Kim (the designer behind Kimeric Kreations) a few questions so you
could get to know her...

What’s the history behind ‘Kimeric Kreations’?

"I've always been a crafter.  When I was a kid, I would save bits of colored glass, pretty rocks, paper clips, you name it. I had crayons, paints, glue, paper - all in boxes in my room, and was always "making stuff". My grandmother was a quilter and tatter - she taught me quilting and cooking when I was a kid, both things I still love today. I was a child of the '70's - and embroidered anything I could get my hands on. I had discovered fabrics thru home economics classes in school, and found you could do other things than "just quilt" them. Later, after my kids were born, I opened a craft shop in a small town, and ran it until my husband passed in 1986. I closed up the shop as my kids were very very young, and instead began doing "home craft parties", lugging around display stands and examples of my work to peoples homes, while working fulltime during the day.

I began scrapbooking to keep and preserve memories of my hubby - for my children. Very basic scrapbooking.... plastic pages for photo's, and would use those sticky labels on top of the plastic. As scrapbooking evolved into the beautiful hobby it is today - I found I couldn't afford to purchase all the things I wanted! So, I just kept at it the way I had been for years. Then - I got a computer.  The basic paint program that comes with Windows fascinated me to no end!   I actually got pretty good with that one, lol - but never did anything with it.  In 2005 I move 3 hours away from my family, to the peaceful countryside. I got a job driving fork lift, which I loved, believe it or not. I met Eric there my first year. At night, I would surf the net, looking for creative idea's. One night I came across a scrapbook site. I did not realize it was a completely digital program - but admired what I was seeing. After reading more, I was hooked. I knew how to scrapbook, but I had no idea how to make these "digital kits".

Meanwhile, my relationship with Eric grew.  After being a widow for 20 years... dating was ...strange.  But, we clicked. Eric is an artist and musician, and encourages me every step of the way. We decided to invest in a more involved design program, and penny pincher that I am, I chose Paint Shop Pro, which I still use as my main design program today. I taught myself how to 'design' thru lots of trial and error. We chose the brand "Kimeric Kreations"   as Kim  + Eric equals Kimeric - just that simple. It's been a long road, but a fun one!"

Here's some beautiful samples made using Kim's Debut Collection (available here on the DaisyTrail Shop):

We hope you like these kits as much as we do. You can get them from the DaisyTrail Shop here.
