Hybrid Scrapbooking for your Festive Memories!

Posted: 30th December 2011   Category: Create your own projects   By: jess serif

Hi Everyone!

Here in the DaisyTrail office we’ve been busy scrapping our Christmas memories using great hybrid scrapbooks! Just look at what our Designer Charlotte has made to scrap her festive memories! It looks great and makes a perfect gift too!

Christmas Hybrid Scrapbook

Here’s the lowdown on how to create a gorgeous hybrid scrapbook:

1.  To start, you will need to create your scrap page digitally using CraftArtist. We used a blank 8x8 scrap page in Craft Artist and used both the Paper Poinsettia and free Christmas Crafts digikits.

2.  Add the background, materials and embellishments to your page, we used the frame scissor punch on one of the materials too to outline frame we have used!

3.  Insert your frame and add your photo using the photo tab.

4.  You will now need to deconstruct your page. Simply insert a new blank page and add each element separately onto the blank page.

5.  Print each element and cut them out!

6.  Now you need to start layering up your scrap page, glue your background to the scrap page and layer each material using adhesive foam pads to make a great 3-D effect! Then, do the same with your embellishments and frame.

7.  To finish add some glitter, ribbons and any other physical embellishments you wish to include! We tore off some handmade tissue paper, wrote on it and used it as a snippet on our scrap page!

So why not make a hybrid scrapbook yourself? It’s really simple, fun to make and gives you the best of both worlds by combining digital scrapping with traditional paper crafting!  You could scrap your Christmas photos or even your New Year’s celebrations!

Don’t forget to share your scrapbook creations with us all on the DaisyTrail gallery!

Hello everyone!

DaisyTrail's 12 days of Christmas are coming to an end - and we're going out with a bang!

To celebrate the 12th day, we’re inviting everyone to get scrapbooking! For your chance to win a £50/$50 DaisyTrail shop voucher, all you have to do is scrapbook one of the 12 days of Christmas!

First, choose one of the following days…

A partridge in a pear tree
Two turtle doves
Three French hens
Four calling birds
Five gold rings
Six geese a-laying
Seven swans a-swimming
Eight maids a-milking
Nine ladies dancing
Ten lords a-leaping
Eleven pipers piping
Twelve drummers drumming

…and make a 12 x 12 scrapbook to celebrate it!

The only rule is that you MUST USE CRAFTARTIST to make it (any version - including the free version).

Upload your entry to DaisyTrail, click ‘Share this project’ and choose the ‘DaisyTrail Christmas’ challenge.

Closing date is 5pm GMT on Thursday 22nd December.

Kate and I will choose our favourite scrapbook and announce the winner on Friday, 23rd December. Our decision is final.

Good luck!
